Description

Quoin Cottage is a house dating from the late 17th century, situated on The Green in Adderbury. It is constructed from coursed marlstone rubble with wooden lintels, and has a concrete plain-tile roof with stone-and-brick stacks. The house has a roughly L-shaped layout, built in two phases. The two-storey front has two windows on each floor, with two-light casements. The central doorway has been blocked, and modern casements are set beneath the original stop-chamfered lintels. A doorway allows access to Wisteria House via a lower, narrow link. The rear wing, with two windows, features similar casements with old lintels, one now incorporating a 6-panel door, while the rear has old leaded casements. The steeply pitched roofs have stone-based gable stacks, and the left gable of the main range has a parapet with projecting moulded kneelers. The interior has not been inspected.
