Description
Wadenhoe is a small house built in 1728, as indicated by the datestone. It is constructed from coursed marlstone and limestone rubble, featuring some wooden lintels. The roof is a combination of thatch and concrete plain tiles, with a brick gable stack. The house has a two-unit plan along with a subsidiary range and consists of two storeys and a single storey.
The front of the main range has a regular two-window arrangement, primarily made of marlstone, and includes renewed two-light casements along with a central doorway. The lower openings have rubble flat arches, and above the door is a datestone with a heart-shaped panel inscribed "GE/S/17/28", with the "S" reversed. The left gable wall features a rounded bread-oven projection topped with a stone-slate roof. To the right of the main range, there is a tiled service range. The interior has not been inspected.
