Description

This group of three chest tombs, dating from the early 18th century, is located approximately 17 meters east-south-east of the chancel of the Church of St. Peter and St. Paul in Deddington. Made of marlstone and designed in the Baroque style, the tombs are rectangular in shape and feature deep moulded covers with baluster corners. The sides are elaborately carved with panels that include wreaths, shields, cornucopiae, and intricate cartouches. While the inscriptions on the tombs are mostly illegible, they do include the dates 1739 and 1761.
