Description

The Congregational Chapel, also known as the United Reformed Church, was built between 1856 and 1857 by W.M. Eyles of London. It is designed in the Greek Revival style, featuring a stuccoed facade with brick on the sides and rear. The central section of the building has a projecting bay with a pediment, flanked by pilasters and a tall two-light window. On either side, there are two-storey entrance bays that include panelled double doors and Tuscan doorcases. The second floor is adorned with tall windows that have stone surrounds and glazing bars. Inside, the chapel is said to have box pews and a gallery.
