Description

A row of four houses, numbers 3 to 6, Crouch Street, Banbury, was built around 1840. The houses are constructed of stuccoed brick with slate roofs and brick end stacks. They are two storeys high with an attic, and originally had a four-window frontage. The ground floor features six entrances with four-centred arched heads and hood moulds that include head stops. Two doorways are accessed from rear passages. The doors are panelled. Ground floor windows have square heads and Gothic glazing bars, while the first-floor windows are similar. Small, pointed arched windows are located between the houses. The attic fronts are gabled, with pointed arched windows featuring intersecting glazing bars and hood moulds, some of which also have head stops. The houses have carved bargeboards with pendants on numbers 4, 5, and 6. A string course runs below the first-floor windows. The interiors have not been inspected. The property is of group value.
