Description

Bourton House is a house built in 1831, as indicated by the datestone. It features brick laid in Flemish bond and has a hipped slate roof with brick internal stacks. The house has a double-depth plan and stands three storeys tall, with a three-window range. The central entrance is highlighted by a Tuscan doorcase that includes a panelled and glazed door with margin glazing and an overlight. On either side of the entrance are sash windows with brick flat arches and glazing bars. The first and second floors also have three similar windows. A wooden eaves cornice completes the exterior. The datestone likely refers to the Hadland family. The interior has not been inspected.
