Description
Oatley Hill Farmhouse is a mid-18th century farmhouse constructed from coursed rubble ironstone, topped with a stone slate roof laid to diminishing courses. The building features two stone end stacks and has a double depth plan with an M-shaped roof. It stands two storeys plus an attic and comprises three bays. The central doorway has a shouldered architrave and is flanked by two windows with stone architraves and vertical sashes. The first floor contains three sash windows. The facade has recently been stripped of 19th-century rendering and includes two 20th-century dormers. Inside, there are contemporary pine cupboards and a bressumer above the fireplace, with a dairy located at the rear of the main rooms. To the right, there is a 17th-century single-unit section that is a single storey plus attic, featuring a brick stack on the right gable end.
