Description

Forge Cottage is a cottage dating from the 17th century, with alterations made in the 19th century. It features a timber frame with a red brick ground floor and a weather-boarded first floor. The roof is plain tiled, half-hipped, and has two spans, with a large brick chimney stack on the left, a smaller brick stack on the right at the front, and a large stack at the rear on the right. The cottage is two storeys high and has an irregular arrangement of windows, with one window on both floors that are casements. There is a central boarded door to the right of the ground floor window, which is topped by a flat hood supported on brackets. At the rear, there is a brick lean-to extension.
