Description
The Smithy is a 18th-century forge that has been converted into a shop. It features a timber-framed structure with a brick catslide extension on the front right. The roof is plain tiled, half-hipped to the right with a gabled step to the left, and includes a large brick stack, which is also present at the rear right. There is an outshut with a catslide roof on the front right. The building is two storeys tall and has irregular window arrangements, including one triple casement on the first floor to the left, with additional casements on the front and left return face of the outshut. On the ground floor, there is a half-glazed door to the left, flanked by non-opening windows. Inside, the timber frame of thin scantling is still visible, and there is a forge hearth located on the ground floor.
