Description

Maitland's Outfitters is a house that has been converted into a shop. It dates from the late 15th century and was refronted in the 18th century. The building is timber-framed and weather-boarded, with a rendered ground floor on the right side. It features a modillioned eaves cornice and a half-hipped plain tiled roof, with a chimney stack on the rear wing. The first floor has a jetty and contains two window openings with glazing bar sashes. The ground floor has a double shop front with an inset central doorway. A projecting copper kettle sign is located in the center of the first floor. At the back, there is a two-storey half-hipped wing.
