Description
White Cottage is a farmhouse, now a house, dating from the 16th century and clad in the 19th century. It has a timber-framed structure set on a random rubble plinth, with the ground floor built in red brick and the first floor tile hung. The south side features weatherboarding and a shallow jetty over the ground floor. The roof is plain tiled, hipped to the south with a dormer, and half hipped to the north. A tall ribbed red brick stack is located on the ridge in the centre of the building. The house has a lobby entry plan and consists of 2 storeys and an attic. The windows are arranged irregularly, with 5 on the first floor and 2 on the ground floor, all being 20th-century wooden casements. The central entrance features a panelled door with a minimal wooden porch.
