Description
Dogkennel Farmhouse is a hall-house that has been converted into a house. It dates from the early 16th century, with extensions added to the right in the late 17th or early 18th century. The exterior is clad in 19th-century materials, featuring timber framing and weatherboarding on the ground floor, while the first floor is tile-hung. The roof is plain tiled, hipped to the left and half hipped to the right. There is a tall ribbed red brick chimney stack on the left and two additional stacks at the rear. The building has irregular fenestration, with seven windows on the first floor and six on the ground floor. To the left, there are paired half-glazed doors. A gabled cross-wing is located to the right on the rear elevation, with a catslide extension to the left. Inside, the farmhouse features a substantial timber frame with arched tie-beams in the roof.
