Description

Four Wents Farmhouse is a 17th-century farmhouse with 19th-century cladding and 20th-century extensions. It is timber framed, with a red brick ground floor to the west and a tile-hung first floor. Some weatherboarding is present on the north and east sides. The roofs are tiled, with a hip to the south and a half-hip to the north and east. The house is L-shaped, with a small 17th-century block running north-south in the angle of the main block. The west front has a ridge stack to the left of centre and two storeys. It features an irregular arrangement of windows, with two windows on the first floor and three on the ground floor, each with large wood-framed lattice casements. A ribbed door is located to the right of centre, sheltered by a 19th-century flat hood supported by brackets. A weatherboarded calving shed is situated at the left corner, extending back across the width of the right-hand side. A 20th-century range is attached to the east.
