Description

Ambleford is a house dating from around 1700. It features a timber frame built on a sandstone base, with weatherboarding on the ground floor and tile hanging on the first floor, topped by a plain tiled roof. The building has one and a half storeys, with a stack at the right end and a lean-to outshot on the right side. There are two light and three light wooden casement windows on each floor, along with an additional single light window to the right on the ground floor. The original entrance was in the center of the main elevation, but it has been moved to a boarded door in a late 20th-century rear wing.

Inside, the house has a full late frame with poor scantling, and the massive stone base is exposed in the outshot. There is a tall square inglenook fireplace with a vaulted bread oven attached.
