Description
54 and 56 The Pantiles is a building located on the northwest side, dating from 1746. The colonnade features four Corinthian columns, likely from the 18th century, while the upper parts of the buildings, which are part of the Swan Hotel and the shops below, are from the 19th century. The structure has four storeys and attics, with a stuccoed exterior and a slate mansard roof that includes three dormers, two of which have double windows. There are five sash windows with verticals only, set in moulded architraves, and the first floor has two three-light sashes. The shopfronts are later additions. This building is part of a group that includes Nos 2 to 28 (even) and Nos 38 to 72 (even).
