Description
Post Office Cottage, also known as Trafalgar Lodge, is a house that was originally a pair of houses. It dates from the early 19th century and was extended in the late 20th century. The building features painted brick and weatherboarding, with red brick on the rear elevations and slate roofs. Originally L-shaped, it now has a large additional wing. The house is two storeys tall with a hipped roof, and the return hip of the original left-hand wing overhangs on the left side. There are four glazing bar sash windows on the first floor and two on the left side of the ground floor. To the right, there are two canted bay windows with glazing bar sashes under a single pentice roof, with a glazed door situated between them. The late 20th-century wing is recessed to the left and has tripartite glazing bar sash windows on each floor. The rear of the building has irregular extensions.
