Description
Handley Cross is a house that dates from the mid-18th century and was extended in the early 19th century. It is constructed of red brick and features a plain tiled roof. The building has two storeys and consists of two sections, with a hipped roof and chimney stacks located at the left end, centre right, and at the right end. Originally, the house had a regular arrangement of windows, with three glazing bar sashes on the first floor and two on the ground floor, all featuring gauged heads. The central entrance has a door with six panels, the top two of which are glazed, and is framed by a large pedimented doorcase supported by Doric pilasters. The house has been extended to the right by one bay, which includes one margin light sash window on each floor. At the rear, there is a catslide outshot.
