Description

A pair of cottages, dating from around 1700, which were altered and extended in the early 19th century. The cottages are built with a striking facade of red and blue chequered brick on the ground floor, and tile hanging on the first floor, with a plain tiled roof. They are two storeys high, featuring stacks at the left end, the centre right, and the rear left end. The left-hand cottage has two three-light and two two-light wooden casement windows on the first floor, and two two-light casements on the ground floor. The right-hand cottage has two three-light wooden casement windows on the first floor, and two glazing bar sash windows on the ground floor. A boarded door is located to the right, and a 20th-century multi-panelled door is situated to the left, within a raking porch with a sidelight. Gabled rear wings run parallel to the rear of the main building.
