Description
Spring Farmhouse is a house that dates back to the 16th century or earlier. It is timber framed and features weatherboarding on a brick and sandstone base, topped with a plain tiled roof. The building has a T-shaped plan, with the main range on the right being one storey and an attic. This section is set on a coursed stone plinth and includes two hipped dormers, with stacks projecting at the end right and clustered to the left. The main range has three two-light wooden casements.
To the left is a gabled crosswing that rises to two storeys and a garret. This section features a three-light mullioned window in the gable, a two-light wooden casement on the first floor, and a three-light casement on the ground floor, accompanied by a panelled door to the right. At the rear, there is a single-storey outshot. The forecourt is enclosed by simple spiked railings with dog rails, which are set on a low stone wall that projects about four metres from the house and continues along the full length of the elevation.
