Description
No. 83 on London Road is a mid-19th century building that features two storeys, attics, and a basement, all finished in stucco. The roof is hipped and tiled, with two dormers. A wide modillion cornice runs along the top, and the building has long and short quoins. There are three sash windows on the front, one of which is a three-light window, and a stringcourse separates the ground floor from the upper levels. The off-centre porch is supported by square columns and has a flight of steps leading up to it. The ground floor windows are adorned with flower guards that feature anthemion motifs. On the side elevation, there is a three-light bow window on the first floor. This building is included for its group value, as it forms part of a group with Nos. 69 to 73, which are consecutive.
