Description
Carpenter's Corner is a farmhouse that later became a coffin workshop and is now a pair of cottages. It dates from the 17th century but was clad in the 18th century. The building features a timber frame with red and blue brick chequer cladding, and the first floor to the north (front) is tile hung. It has a plain tiled half-hipped roof with wooden eaves cornice and a tall ribbed brick stack located off-centre to the left. The structure is two storeys high and has an irregular arrangement of windows, with four on the first floor and two on the ground floor, all of which are wood-framed casements. There are two boarded doors, positioned to the left and right, each with a small hood supported by brackets. The rear of the building has an exposed upright and a partial rear catslide outshot. Inside, there is substantial timber framing.
