Description

The Beacon is an early 19th-century house, potentially built on the site of an earlier 17th-century structure. The ground floor is built of red brick in a Flemish bond with grey headers, while the first floor is tile-hung. The roof is old tiled, with a central square brick chimney stack and two chimney stacks at the ends. The house is two storeys and has attics in the gable ends, with four windows. The windows are 16-pane sashes with horns. A central doorcase features a flat wooden weatherhood on brackets and a decorative rectangular fanlight; the door itself is modern.
