Description

Howard Lodge is a building located at No. 16 Mount Sion, dating from around 1830. It is two storeys high, constructed of white brick resting on a stuccoed and rusticated base. The building features an eaves cornice and string course, and has six windows with intact glazing bars, with the end window bays recessed. Fluted pilasters flank the central section of the façade. To the north of the south pilaster, there is a curved bay that contains three windows on both floors. The entrance porch is supported by fluted Doric columns and is accessed by seven steps with a handrail, topped with a semi-circular fanlight. Nos 16 to 22 (even) are recognized as a group.
