Description

Harecroft School is a house dating from approximately 1840 to 1850, possibly designed by Amon Henry Wilds. The exterior is faced with cobbles, accented by white brick dressings and quoins. A prominent eaves cornice runs along the top. An iron balcony is situated on the first floor, featuring trellised columns that support a hood. The building has three sash windows with intact glazing bars. The ground floor windows are round-headed, while a segmental-headed window is centrally located on both the first and second floors. A round-headed doorcase is set within a coved recess, framed by white brick on the sides and red brick at the head. The door itself is a three-panelled, moulded design, topped by a segmental fanlight. Harecroft School, along with numbers 6 to 9 Cumberland Walk and the wall in front of number 7, form a notable group.
