Description

Jerningham House is an 18th-century house forming an ā€œLā€ shape. It is two storeys high with attics. The north-facing elevation has five windows and three dormers, while the west-facing elevation has three windows and two dormers. Most of the windows retain their original glazing bars. A Venetian window is centrally positioned on the first floor, below which is a stuccoed Tuscan porch. A six-panel moulded door with a rectangular fanlight is within the porch. A similar doorcase, but without a porch and with a flat hood, exists on the west front. The house contains a good staircase. The building is part of a group with numbers 16 to 22 (even) Mount Sion. The front of the building is tiled above a stuccoed base.
