Description

Caxton House, located at Nos 19 and 21 Mount Sion, is a building dating from around 1840. It is three storeys tall with a semi-basement, constructed of painted brick. The building features an eaves cornice and has six sash windows, some of which retain their glazing bars. An iron balcony is present on the first floor, and there is a porch below supported by three fluted columns, which is accessed by two curved flights of steps. The building has two doorcases, each with rectangular fanlights. On the west side, there is a massive chimney breast made of ashlar and brick, which likely originates from an older house. Caxton House is part of a group that includes Nos 9 to 29 (odd).
