Description

Baker's Cross House is an 18th-century house with 19th-century additions and alterations. The south front features a central block with a red brick ground floor and tile hanging above, topped by a hipped tiled roof with a parapet. It has two storeys and a three-window front, with glazing bar sashes on the first floor and tripartite sashes below. A central panelled double door is set within a wide, parapetted porch supported by four Tuscan columns; narrow windows flank the doors within the porch. The parapet of the roof steps down to the right to a lower wing, with a conservatory projecting to the south in the angle created by a further projecting single-storey red brick wing. To the left is a late 19th-century projecting gabled wing with a red brick ground floor and mock framing above, incorporating large mullioned windows on both the ground and first floors. Various 18th-century to mid-19th-century blocks extend to the rear.
