Description
9 The Pantiles is a house and shop built around 1850. The building is finished in stucco and features a hipped slate roof with two stuccoed chimney stacks. It stands three storeys tall with attics, and the attic includes paired dormer windows. There is a bracket eaves cornice along the roofline.
On the second floor, there are two sash windows with horns and marginal glazing, protected by iron flower guards. The first floor features a three-light canted bay window supported by pilasters and topped with a bracket cornice, also with marginal glazing and horns, along with a cast iron balconette. The ground floor has a late 19th-century butcher's shopfront, which includes a wooden fascia, pilasters, and a rectangular fanlight. There is a two-panelled door with marginal glazing and a tiled stall riser. The rear elevation has sash windows with horns and a four-panelled door, with the top two panes glazed.
