Description
This is a pair of gate piers and gates located at the entrance to The Hollonds, dating from around the mid-19th century. The gate piers are octagonal and made of cast iron, featuring moulded finials. The gates themselves are also made of cast iron, with styles that are decorated with wrought iron scrolls. The top rails of the gates ramp up to meet the piers, and there are diagonal braces above the dograil. The verticals of the gates have spearhead finials positioned above the middle and top rails. This structure is included for its group value with The Hollonds.
