Description

This is an oast house and granary built in the late 19th century, located 23 metres north of Lowyns in Plaxtol. The structure features a random rubble plinth, with the granary constructed of random rubble and red brick above, along with a random rubble extension to the south. The roof is plain tiled and hipped to the south, featuring a small gable at the left-hand end of the west side and three weatherboarded gables on the east side. There are four modern metal casement windows on the east elevation and two blocked doorways on the ground floor of the granary to the west. The north side displays three roundels made of red brick with grey headers, topped with tiled slopes, cowls, and wind-vanes. The building has been partially converted into a dwelling and is included in the listing for its group value.
