Description

The bridge over the River Bourne at Roughways is a packhorse bridge, likely dating from the 16th century. It was widened on the south side by 3 feet in the 18th century. The structure is made of Kentish ragstone ashlar with galletting and features two horse-shoe shaped arches with central cutwaters. Modern wooden rails have been added.
