Description
The Church Oast is a mid-19th century oast house, converted to residential use. It comprises a two-story timber-framed and weatherboarded granary with square oasts at either end. The oasts have pyramidal roofs topped with wooden cowlings featuring winders. The granary has irregular window openings; four wooden casements on the first floor, three on the ground floor, and six stair lights at the right-hand end. There are also two double carriage doors to the left and right. A 20th-century porch has been added to the right return front. It is listed for its group value with the Church of St Catherine. The building is constructed of chequered red and blue brick, with a plain tiled roof.
