Description

Newhouse Farmhouse is a farmhouse, possibly originally a hall house, dating to the 16th century, with 18th-century elevations. It is constructed of coursed stone blocks with red brick quoins and window dressings; a random stone plinth is also visible. Some sections of the side and rear walls are tile-hung. The roof is hipped and covered in plain tiles, featuring a stack on the left side and an off-ridge stack to the rear. The two-storey front has an irregular arrangement of four windows, with glazing bar sashes. These include tripartite windows at both ends of the front and on both floors. A central door is present, half-glazed and panelled, set within a pilastered frame topped with a dentilled and pedimented entablature.
