Description

Weavers Cottage is a 16th-century farmhouse, with a 20th-century wing added to the rear. It has a plinth of coursed rubble with a red brick band. The upper part of the building is timber-framed with plaster infilling. The roof is hipped and covered in plain tiles, featuring a large central stack. A full-width jetty (overhanging first-floor) projects above the ground floor, supported by exposed joists and brackets. The west-facing front is primarily red brick and random rubble at ground floor, with timber framing above. The east-facing front and north front, where it joins a red brick north front, are timber-framed with plaster infilling. The cottage is two storeys high with three windows. It has modern diamond lattice casement windows. A modern weather porch houses the entrance at the junction of the north front and north wing, where a modern boarded and ribbed door is located.

Inside, a 16th-century fireplace is still present, featuring a stop-chamfered bressumer (a beam over a fireplace). The roof includes two crown posts of a late design.
