Description
3 and 5 Mill Street is a late 15th to early 16th century hall-house that has been divided into two properties. The building features 19th century elevations and is rendered, with a plinth and a band on the left side that conceals the timber frame. It has a plain tiled roof that is hipped to the right and includes a gablet. There are off-ridge stacks to the front on the left and to the rear, with another stack off-centre to the right. The eaves on the left are boarded. The building has two storeys with slightly irregular fenestration, featuring four windows on both floors, all of which are casements, including one sliding casement on the first floor to the right. On the ground floor to the right, there are two canted bay shop fronts. There are three doors, with a panelled door in the centre and half-glazed doors in the centre of and to the right of the shop front. A lean-to catslide extension is present on the right. The wing on the left is a separate property facing onto High Street, listed separately as Ingleside, 1 Mill Street.
