Description

Winfield House is a house dating to around 1830-40. The north front, which serves as the entrance, is built of gault brick with bracketted eaves to a slate roof. It has a gabled design and three projecting stacks. The house has two storeys and an attic, featuring three windows; single windows are present in the attic, and the first floor windows are glazing bar sashes with Venetian shutters. A central, pedimented porch in the Roman Doric style, decorated with metopes and triglyphs, provides access via a four-panelled door with a traceried fanlight. The west front has six windows, with Venetian shutters on the first floor. A hipped verandah runs across the ground floor and extends northwards as a conservatory.
