Description

The wall to the west and south of Birling Place is a Grade II listed structure. Its exact date is uncertain, but it includes a gateway that dates back to around 1450, which may have been reused. The wall is constructed from random rubblestone with some brick, particularly on the southern section, and shows signs of extensive patching. It features a 4-centred arched doorway on the west side, which has a roll-moulded surround. The wall varies in height from 4 to 10 feet and extends around the south side of Birling Place, leading to a barn that is listed separately as the barn to the southeast of Birling Place.
