Description

Golding Farm Cottage is a late 18th-century cottage located on the east side of Crowhurst Lane in Plaxtol. The structure is built of coursed and galletted rubble stone with red brick quoins and dressings. The roof is tiled, with a stack on the right-hand end. A section of the left side is built with red and blue brick, while the gable on the right-hand side is weather-boarded. The cottage has two storeys and two windows. The ground floor windows are casements in segment-headed surrounds, while the upper floor windows are a mixture of 19th and 20th-century casements. A central boarded door is protected by a flat hood. The cottage is notable as a good example of a modest, traditionally built domestic dwelling typical of the region and is recognized for its group value.
