Description

Elder Cottage and Old Bay Cottage, located on Minnis Road in Birchington-on-Sea, are two adjoining buildings. The right side, Elder Cottage, is a 15th-century, two-storey timber-framed cottage featuring a tiled hipped roof with two hipped dormers that have casement windows. The ground floor has close-studded timber framing and includes a later pedimented porch. The left side, Old Bay Cottage, is two storeys high and faced with 18th-century red brick. It has a thatched roof with a central stack, casement windows, and a later weather porch. A sun fire plaque is also present on the building.
