Description
Poet's Corner is a former coach-house and service quarters to the Tower Bungalows, built between 1881 and 1882 by John Pollard Seddon. The building features a yellow brick ground floor with a red brick string course and timber-framed sgraffito panels on the upper floor. It has a hipped roof made of original self-locking tiles, complete with end finials. The windows have small upper panes, and both the north and south end elevations each have a central three-light window above, flanked by sgraffito panels. At the south end, this window is positioned above a later 20th-century three-light window, while at the north end, it is above a modern flat-roofed extension. The west elevation showcases twelve sgraffito panels surrounding two two-light windows, one three-light window, and one single-light window. The original ground floor openings are partly concealed by a later lean-to that encloses two windows and a porch, as well as by a later bay window to the south. The rear elevation is unfenestrated and features a continuous strip of sgraffito panels above the ground floor.
