Description

This building, consisting of numbers 19 and 21 High Street, dates from around 1840. It is a three-story building with a basement, originally constructed of stock brick, with the front elevation stuccoed. A parapet runs along the top, featuring a wide, dropped cornice that is both moulded and supported by brackets. The corners are emphasised by quoins. The front elevation has three sash windows set within moulded architraves. There is a blank window on the first floor and two three-light sash windows. Later shopfronts have been installed. The side elevation of number 19 has three sash windows and two three-light, canted bays on the first floor. A doorcase with a cornice and consoles is also present. Numbers 17 to 25 (odd) are considered a group.
