Description
The Kings Arms Public House, located at 5 and 6 Market Street, is a building from the 18th century that was altered in the mid-19th century. It consists of two sections. The left side, dating from the late 18th century, is two storeys high and has a stuccoed exterior with a parapet. It features an old tiled roof with two dormers and one sash window with intact glazing bars. The early 19th-century shopfront and bar front are also notable. The right side of the building is three storeys tall with attics, constructed of stock brick. It has a slate mansard roof with two dormers, a parapet with stone coping and balustrading, and three sash windows, some of which retain their glazing bars. The early 19th-century bar front is a significant feature as well.
