Description

The Old Vicarage is a vicarage built around 1709 for John Lewis, who held the position of vicar from 1708 and was also a historian of Thanet. The building is of brick, which has been covered with roughcast rendering, and has a plain tiled roof. It is two storeys high with an attic, set on a plinth and featuring boxed eaves to the hipped roof. There are three hipped dormers and chimney stacks at the rear left, and at the ends of the building left and right. The windows are regularly placed, with five cross windows on the first floor and four segmental-headed sash windows with glazing bars on the first floor. A central, 19th-century porch with Doric columns frames a glazed front door.
