Description

This is an early 19th-century house and shop, located on Pegwell Road, Ramsgate. The building is constructed of flint with brick detailing, topped with a plain tiled roof. Originally two separate buildings, the front has been canted forward. The left-hand block is two storeys high, featuring a parapet and three leaded windows on the first floor, each with a brick head. On the ground floor to the right is a blank arched window space, with a recessed shop front. The arch above the shop front is supported by heavily enriched brackets, which appear to be re-used architectural elements. The right-hand block has two leaded casements with arched heads on each floor. A stack is located at the end of the right-hand side. A blank arched recess is present on the right return side, with an illegible inscription. Access to the building is via a rear courtyard.
