Description

The wall and gate piers form the forecourt to West Cliff Terrace, dating to around 1840. The approximately 3-foot-high brick wall has pilaster buttresses and a cornice, all executed in stucco with elliptical arcading. The rendered and rusticated gate piers are at the north-east corner, with moulded cornices. The carriageway piers are topped with scrolled iron lamp brackets, while the pedestrian entry pier is plain. A plain brick wall extends eastwards from West Cliff Terrace, connecting to outbuildings and incorporating an arched buttress/gateway.
