Description

The column in the grounds of Quex Park is a Grade II listed monument. Originally, it stood in the grounds at Kingsland, which belonged to Charles James Fox. After Kingsland was sold, the new owners, who married into the Powell-Cotton family, relocated it to Quex Park. The monument features a plain stone Corinthian column with a stone base, topped by an urn. It was erected in memory of Margaret Kildare, Countess of Hillsborough, who died in Naples in 1767.
