Description
Waterloo Tower, located in the grounds of Quex Park, was built between 1818 and 1820. It is constructed of red brick and stands four storeys tall, featuring four octagonal turrets. The tower has crenellated parapets, lancet windows with Gothick glazing bars, and arrow-slit windows. At the top, there is a later 19th-century cast iron spire topped with a hen weathervane. The base of the tower includes two single-storey entrance lodges, which also have crenellated tops and crocketted spires. Above the doorcase is the Royal Coat of Arms. At the base of the tower is a mausoleum with the inscription: "This tower was restored and the mausoleum was dedicated to the memory of Henry Horace Powell Cotton by his son 1896." Inside the tower, there is a peal of 12 bells.
