Description
St. Benet's is a house located in Ramsgate, built in the late 19th century. The building is rendered and topped with a slate roof. It features three storeys and an attic, along with a six-storey tower. The base of the house is horizontally rusticated, and it has a balustrated parapet adorned with urn finials. The roof is hipped to the right and includes three moulded segmental dormers with ball finials.
The rear tower has a gable on the left side, with segmentally headed sash windows, and a stack and stair turret grouped to the right. On the second floor, there are two full-height canted bays with sash windows, while the first floor has French windows and sash windows, along with a tented verandah that wraps around the bays. This verandah features moulded valancing, slender piers, and cast iron rails. The ground floor includes sash and French windows, as well as double half-glazed doors with a semi-circular fanlight, set within a surround of recessed marble columns. The ground floor is also equipped with cast iron rails. Inside, there is a central swept stair with a balustrade.
