Description
The Admiral Fox is a public house located on Grange Road in Ramsgate. It was built in the early 19th century and altered in the late 19th century. The building is constructed of stock brick, with some parts rendered, and has a slate roof. It stands two stories high with a basement and features boxed eaves on a hipped roof, which has stacks on the left, at the right end, and at the rear.
On the first floor, there are three glazing bar sashes with segmental heads. The ground floor includes a projecting single-storey extension on the left, which has a central four-light mullioned and transomed window, along with half-glazed doors to the left and right, the latter accessed by railed steps, with a sidelight at the right end. To the right, there is a half-glazed door with rails and a three-light mullioned and transomed window above a basement opening. The Admiral Fox, after whom the pub is named, died in 1811 and is buried in the nearby St. Laurence Church.
