Description

The gate and railings adjoining and west of The White Horse date from the 18th century and are made of cast iron. The rail stands about 3 feet high and is set on a rendered base that extends for approximately 3 feet in length, featuring a free-standing section at the gate pier. The gate piers are adorned with three spiked principals on the left and two on the right. The fence includes spiked uprights and double gates, with a sweeping top rail and a secondary rail that curves upward to meet at the gate latch.
